The Billboard House

Description

We designed a modular house and studio complex for an artist and his family in the West Texas high desert. The house maximizes the unobstructed views and incorporates designated areas for various activities. The exterior walls serve as canvases for digitally printed images, creating artistic interventions in the landscape. The modular elements fit inside shipping containers and can be combined to form well-proportioned living spaces. Two modules, "wet" and "dry," house the essential program elements. The basic house consists of three modules, measuring 36' x 24'. The roofline tilts upwards to accommodate solar panels and a rainwater collection system, while providing spacious interiors with an 11' ceiling height and a modern aesthetic.
